Crawfish Boil

Eddie and I are part of the missions committee at our small church. As a local project, we helped pull together a Crawfish Boil. The purpose was to encourage the members of our church to get out and meet their neighbors and invite them to enjoy some crawfish. Our hope is that they will continue to build relationships with these neighbors and that spiritual conversations would develop through these relationships. We admit that we were CHALLENGED as much as anyone. We weren't sure how many people to expect, but we are guessing (based on supplies used) that we served over 200 people. We went through 375 lbs of Crawfish in about 2 hours. All of us were blown away. As a bonus, the guy who brought the crawfish and came to cook was from Eddie's company in Louisiana and another one from his office here. So, Eddie got to hang out with them. AND, we had TRUE CAJUN CRAWFISH!!! We were truly encouraged by all the Lord did to make the day such fun and purposeful event.

I am encouraged Kim. It really excites me to see families learning how to live a life of ministry on top of working a full time job. It is soooo hard but not impossible. It looks so different that when it is your full time job. John and I want so much to contiune to learn how to do this at every stage of life.
